To be eligible for the IE-SMU MBA you must meet the following criteria:
1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
2. Solid academic record
3. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate university
4. A completed application form
The admissions process starts upon the submission of an online application along with the relevant supporting documentation. This application provides both schools’ Admissions Committees with an important foundation for evaluating candidates. It is therefore essential that you use this opportunity to present sufficient information, including examples that illustrate how your participation would contribute to the unique and dynamic nature of the programme.
The interview will enter into more detail regarding the information provided in the admissions application and will evaluate whether your profile meets the demands of the programme. The interview can be conducted face-to-face on IE’s or SMU’s respective campuses, in your country of residence in the event that an IE or SMU admissions representative is on a local visit, or via Skype.
Following the interview and after a review of your application in its entirety, the Admissions Committees will make its final decision based on the evaluation of your candidature as a whole. The decision will be based on all the various aspects of your profile, as well as the extent to which your profile aligns with the core values of IE-SMU MBA and learning environment.
Online Application Supporting Documents
The entire admissions process takes approximately 3 to 5 weeks.
1. GMAT or GRE score, with IE or SMU admission tests as alternatives*
2. One essay and one other form of self-expression
3. Two letters of recommendation
4. Work verification letter (optional)
5. Organization Chart
8. Bachelor’s degree** (if award of degree is not mentioned on transcript)
9. TOEFL or IELTS score (if candidate’s degree was not completed in English)
Application fee: S$200 (non-refundable, inclusive of GST)
*The IE and SMU admissions tests are the independent exams used by each institution. These aptitude exams can be completed in the universities’ campuses or at one of IE’s international offices. In addition, the SMU admissions test can be completed online for candidates based in countries where there may not be a physical testing facility.
**Students must fulfill the following requirements to be able to request the issuance of the Official University Degree upon completion of the Master Programme.
This programme is open to all nationalities, however students are responsible for obtaining a valid visa to attend the face-to-face sessions in Singapore and Madrid. Student visas cannot be obtained as this is not a full-time programme.
